My entry into this contest: I show you here 2 photographs of cacti I found while I was living 1 year, from August 2019 until August 2020, on the tiny Island of Malta. In the Mediterranean Sea. That was quite some experience.
The contrast with the bright blue sky and the green was mesmerising. I love details, you can see in the first photo… of this beautiful Cactus.
Enjoy 😊

Malta... a paradise for cacti :)
Thank you :)

You are welcome @travelcontest 😎🌵
Malta surely is. Spain is still battling with the aftermath that killed most cacti. So not much nice examples around here. So I showed Malta.

Excellent :)

!giphy cheers

Interesting fact.
I have a friend living in Malta and we are planning a stop by there. Hope I can visit it.

Beautiful pic

It’s definitely worth a visit. If you manage to go to Malta @vaipraonde do hop on the ferry to Gozo. ( another Island of Malta) You are there in 20 minutes. It’s how Malta used to be. Greener and more open space. A total different feel on Gozo.

Thank you 😊

Noted!!! Tks for sharing this tip.

You are welcome @vaipraonde 😎

Thank you so much @travelcontest 🙏🏻😊 much appreciated

While on a overlanding trip through Namibia Africa, we stopped at a petrol station in Solitaire. To have some lunch and to stretch our legs, as we had been sitting in the truck for a couple of hours. There was some nice cactus where we set up for lunch in the shade.

It's a big garden :) Do they keep them only for beauty or for something else too, like food, medicine, etc.?

I'm not sure, I think just for beauty.

Thank you :)

After a hard work week, we decided to travel and relax on a farm near São Paulo.

A mountainous region, with clean air and lots of animals and vegetation.

The farm was very large, with stables for horses and cattle, as well as many dogs and cats that roamed it. Always keeping us company on the daily walks.

There I could capture this giant cactus. One of the biggest one I ever seen live.

See you soon
@vaipraonde

Nice cactus portrait :)
Thank you! :)

Hi @travelcontest, I've never mentioned it before, but cacti are ones of my favorite plants, so this theme of your contest is absolutely spot on.
They are favorite not because I am an experienced gardener and I grow them. (In fact, there was one decorative cactus I cared for some years ago and the moment the moment I insisted that its pot be changed because it already looked too big for it, it died soon after the change and it was a really sad loss that time).
Anyway, these plants are my favorite because I dream of living in a country where they are traditional vegetation, you know, a country with a warm climate.

Yet the picture I'm showing you here is of a decorative cactus, photographed in a botanical garden in Bulgaria (obviously, a country where cacti are not traditional plants).
Cheers

Have some !PIZZA and !LUV :) Thank you once again :)
